Cornwall Park

A 70-acre park, established homes, and Bellingham's quietest residential streets.

About

Cornwall Park

Cornwall Park is the kind of neighborhood where people walk their dogs past houses with big front lawns and mature trees that have been growing for decades. The 70-acre Cornwall Memorial Park at the center is the anchor — it offers more than a mile of walking trails connecting playgrounds, a 9-hole disc golf course, open fields, and the locally famous duck pond along Squalicum Creek. On weekends the park fills with families, joggers, and disc golfers, and in fall, the cyclocross community takes over for the annual Cornwall Cross race.

Practical Perks

The neighborhood’s proximity to PeaceHealth Saint Joseph Medical Center — Bellingham’s sole hospital — makes it a practical choice for healthcare workers. Parkview Elementary is well-regarded, and the planned Bay to Baker Trail will further connect the neighborhood to the city’s growing greenway network.

Housing and Character

Housing here tends toward older, character-filled homes rather than new construction. You will find Craftsman bungalows and mid-century ranches on large lots. It is more accessible than Edgemoor or South Hill, and offers a level of quiet residential charm that is hard to beat. The main tradeoff: the commercial strip along Meridian can feel congested, and the neighborhood itself does not have a walkable village center.
